Become a Host Family

As a host family, you would provide a Home Away From Home during an Airman’s or Sailor’s first years at Tinker Air Force Base. This gives you the opportunity to serve as a positive mentor, friend and advisor, as well as provide a caring environment for these young service members to escape the pressures of work and future deployment for a short time.

 

To qualify, host families must:

Agree to a background check (no cost to applicants)

Commit to spend one to two days a month with service member(s)

Commit to host service member(s) throughout their full tour at TAFB (approximately 1-3 years)

Provide a welcoming atmosphere, with opportunities for home-cooked meals and inclusion in holiday events/activities
